Clusters are most important directions of the Greek State and the European Union that aim to create innovation hubs in which companies and organizations of all sizes participate. Innovation Clusters are designed to stimulate innovation, share knowledge and know-how, disseminate information and contribute to the development of knowledge networks.

The formation of an Innovation cluster in a region is a hub of growth, an investment attraction and it brings employment growth. In general, it contributes to the enhancement and socioeconomic development of the local region.

Cluster members are categorized as follows:

1. Active members. Active members are companies and organizations related to the object of the cluster. They are both existing and startup IT/communications companies, or IT departments of other organizations, or academic/research institutions. They are equal to all Active Members. Therefore, they participate in innovative actions and aim to take advantage of the possibilities that include the following:
   1. Implementation of innovative actions in IT sectors.
   2. Possibility of cooperation with the other members for exchange of know-how and exploration of collaboration opportunities for common development.
   3. Continuous promotion on every communication medium of the eMT cluster.
   4. Promotion of their development and businesses through the eMT cluster. Promotional activities include integration in www.emtcluster.gr, promotion in newsletters, participation in conferences, dissemination of results in communication actions of the eMT cluster in Greece and abroad.
   5. Access to the support service provided by the Supporting Entity for issues of collaborations, installation, approach of companies that can implement the member's developments, access to possible research and funded programs.
   6. All the advantages of the Supporters and Observers categories.
      
      
2. Members - users. They are companies that can have access to the results of the members' development. The category includes any kind of business and organization (private or public sector). The following possibilities are provided in this category:
   1. Ability to apply specific (one or more) developments attained by members, on a trial basis, without any investment costs. The cooperation between an active member and a member-user, is recommended by the Supporting Entity, but it is achieved only after an agreement between them.
   2. Continuous Promotion of the company in all the communication actions of the eMT cluster, highlighting its pioneering approach, including it in individual important actions such as the reduction of CO2 emissions, the implementation of tracking procedures, the simplification of procedures and so on.
   3. Promotion and participation in conferences with the reduced costs achieved by the eMT cluster.
   4. Access to the service provided by the Supporting Entity for issues of collaborations with Active Members or other Member-users and access to possible research and funded programs.
      
      
3. Supporters. The Supporters are Sectoral Bodies and companies / organizations of the Public or Private sector that do not actively participate in the innovative developments of the eMT cluster, but contribute to its purposes which comprise the following:
   1. They include their support for the eMT cluster in their own communication plan. Projection of the eMT cluster and its results in their own circle of partners.
   2. Participation in communication actions carried out by the eMT cluster (either digitally or in person).
   3. Optional provision of specific infrastructure services of interest to Members over a particular pricing policy specifically for the eMT cluster.
   4. They are constantly displayed on the eMT cluster website.
   5. They are provided with the opportunity to view their own important announcements on eMT cluster media.
   6. They are given the opportunity to participate in eMT cluster conferences.
      
      
4. Observers. Any business or individual who can access the communication media of the eMT cluster may become an Observer. They can follow up on the cluster's latest progress and be informed about actions that may be of interest to them such as:
   1. Seminars organized by the eMT cluster
   2. Transfer of an idea to innovation, start-up or collaboration with Active Members.
   3. Observers are not featured in the eMT cluster media, but are included in the communication circle concerning cluster news.

All eMT cluster candidate members should accept the eMT cluster policy as served by the Supporting Entity and the cluster Management.
